WEEKEND SNAPSHOTS

Last weekend was the perfect balance of being busy and still having a time out to myself. Aside from visiting Street Feast’s Hawker House, I explored Broadway Market (lots of kale going on there! steady now London Fields, steady) read my books, soaked in a piping hot bath, tidied the rainy mess that is our back garden and made a lovely Sunday roast.

I know it’s only January, but I swear it is starting to get lighter in the morning and evenings! There was even a glimpse of blue sky today- how gorgeous was it in the afternoon? January, you haven’t beaten me yet!

  • We’re heading to Jamaica this Spring! And in the nick of time too, because I’ve got to that point in Winter where I can’t remember what it was like to go outside and be warm. Still researching where to stay, so if you have any tips let me know!
  • I’m on my third lurgy of the year! I always end up picking up whatever Ava’s had and this time, I seem to have caught her stomach bug. Lying down for a sleep with some Benylin isn’t on the cards so I’ll just lie here on the floor instead, with the Noisy Book doing the babysitting.
  • Hands up if you’re over Winter already? ✋🏼✋🏼✋🏼✋🏼 Also, so relieved it’s February. January was full of colds and bugs and dark afternoons. I’ve been eyeing up the hot cross buns in the supermarkets thinking of Spring. Although, not too fast- not sure I can wrap my head around having a soon to be 1 year old just yet! I’ve been thinking about blogging regularly again. The only reason I fell out of blogging was having to push my content out “HI THERE HELLO NEW POST” i mean, it sucked the fun out of it. But I miss it! And I feel like I should document these early baby days because as I have learnt- they really do grow so fast. # In the meantime, happy Sunday!
  • Morning! Waiting patiently for her milk over CBeebies as I scramble to get dressed and make the bed. We’ll play for a couple of hours and eat a bowl of porridge before I put her down for her first nap of the day and then...I get that first delicious cup of tea of my day. I love nap times. Nap times help me switch off mummy mode (even if I then scramble around doing the laundry and tidying up before she wakes up!)
  • Happy Valentine’s Day to my number one boo 😆❤️
  • We’ve gone for a long walk while the carpenters get on with it back at the house (we’re having cupboards built) So far, she won’t nap in the buggy. We’ve dropped off another nursery application and then fingers crossed she’ll sleep by the time I get to the park!
  • Blue skies ✔️ No coats ✔️ Warm enough to play in the garden ✔️ Just as I was complaining about forgetting what warm felt like, Spring has suddenly made it’s first appearance! And what do we do? HEAD TO HOMEBASE OF COURSE. We bought paint for the cupboards and a fresh hanging basket for the front door 😆 Oh, and we had a roast dinner at our local pub and I stuck my baby in the garden with her bunny ear cardigan. Winter, be gone! 👋🏼👋🏼
