With all the baby fever and preparation going on over here, you may be wondering if I’ve forgotten about my other babies- the furry ones. Don’t worry, they’ve still got me firmly wrapped around their fingers (or tails?) It doesn’t seem that long ago that they came home to live with us forever (their kitten faces, I want to BOOP & SMOOSH) Four years has zoomed by and my tiny kittens have become…well, Pinky and the Brain come to mind. Or Rocket and Groot. Louie is the cute little mastermind and Pepper is all brawn and affection and not much else. I don’t often get to mention them too much around here (although Instagram is another story) but with all the baby prep reaching fever pitch, I had a chance to dedicate an entire post to my furry boys. I know once baby arrives, they’ll get less attention (and probably less peace and quiet!) than they’re used to so while I can, I’m spoiling them. Extra treats. Extra sneaky meals. Brand new fancy collars (from Supakit)

Supakit are a new London based company specialising in handcrafted cat collars. As a lifelong cat owner, finding nice collars for my cats has always been an issue. The ones in pet stores are always a bit garish. I also only ever put safety buckle collars on my pets (that’s my Battersea Dogs and Cats Home experience talking here!) and finding something that was pretty and functional was near impossible. Fabric or nylon collars became too frayed around the edges and the reflective ones I used to get would always end up cracked and filthy.
Plus…none of them ever came in cool brassy tins like these!

Crazy cat lady confession here- I’ve also colour coded my cats. Yellow is Louie, Blue is Pepper. They’ve had those colour collars ever since they were big enough to start wearing them- and I’m fussy enough to stick to that when it came to replacing their collars over the years.
When Supakit first got in touch about trying out their collars on my boys, as soon as I saw they had a beautiful buttery yellow leather one in stock I couldn’t say yes fast enough. Louie just wouldn’t be Louie without his yellow accessory.

As well as leather collars, they’ve got wax cotton ones and special kitten sized collars too. There are cute charms and ID tags, but my two dislike having anything dangle from their necks so I can’t indulge in that cloud of cuteness (I even had to remove the beautiful brass bell that comes with all collars)
Thanks Supakit for smartening up Little and Large over here!
P.S my cats are microchipped, but I feel much more reassured when they wear collars
