December! Not biased or anything but i think this is my favourite month (ahemBirthdayandChristmastime) so I didn’t mean to totally abandon Instagram- it’s been over a month since I posted a pic! I have been flooding my Insta Stories with cats, food and baby bumps though. The last time I posted, bump was a secret in my belly and now...well it’s most certainly out there! We got our Christmas tree extra early this year, so early that I still haven’t picked out a wreath for the front door. Anyway, hello hello nice to see you, to see you nice 🎅🏼🤶🏼🎄❄️🎁🎉
Took a walk around Walthamstow Village today- it’s sooo cute- I had lunch outside at a little cafe (cottage pie) and bought yet more pie and crumble at a corner shop, which was also ridiculously cute. It was good to get out and about on this sunny Autumn day! By the time I got home, Amazon delivered my Jim Kay illustrated copy of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Even the font pleases me, everything about it is so beautiful. Anyway. Yay for lovely Autumn days.
Made a quick dash to Kings Cross to pick up wrapping paper...and ended up buying half the food in M&S 🤷🏻♀️roast beef and onion roll, my faaav. Much less busy (even with all the Eurostar passengers!) and less stressy than popping to Oxford Street! Also, so pretty in here. Cant wait to get home to stuff my face full of carbs, glorious carbs.
I’ve loved watching everyone’s festive Insta Stories today! The running theme =Christmas food and films. I’m saving up my cooking energy ( that’s a thing) for tomorrow so it’s fish and chips for Christmas Eve dinner (mushy peas and onion vinegar a must) What does a fish supper have to do with The Nutcracker? Nothing. It’s just festive af. I’m off to sing The Snowman in a really high pitched awful voice to my cat now.
Bali, earlier this year, with my battered flip flops and straw hat. A break from baby doctors (but little did I know how much more work was going to be involved!) and a break from cold Blighty weather. I remember how nice it was in the heat and humidity and that this restaurant had beautiful tiles and plants (and smoothies) and I wanted it all to bring home. 2017, what a job you were (but really, a trillion times better than 2016) Roll on the new year!
Christmas done for another year! I’m taking the tree down tomorrow ready for a New Year, fresh start etc (And also because the poor tree is really really over it) Yesterday I spent all day thinking it was Wednesday (it wasn’t) and today thinking it was Saturday (it’s not) and I might be the only person ready for January which is as crazy as saying “I like Mondays”
Me and my big old bump are not marching today sadly. But I’m thankful for the literally zillions of women around the globe and in London for marching- I want my daughter to grow up listening to our #metoo stories, NOT contributing her own from experience. I want her to grow up with kindness and compassion and confidence to speak up when others can’t- to be a decent human being. I hope her future is better and brighter than today. ❤️
