I have a confession that I feel breaks all rules of girl code. I never get my nails done…I take the Do It Yourself approach when it comes to my nails. I love sitting there in my jammies on a Sunday night, painting my nails and relaxing over an episode of The errr…Walking Dead. So tonight, when The London College of Beauty Therapy hosted a Blogger’s Pamper evening at their Nail Bar, I handed over my fingernails to one of the college’s beauty therapists. And man, I have been MISSING OUT.
I sat down, someone gave me a delicious glass of elderflower juice (I passed on the wine) and offered me a cupcake. I politely refused (as I had stashed one in my coat pocket already). Siany, the beauty therapist in charge of my hands, shaped and cleaned my nails and gave me the best hand massage ever. I think my facial expression here says it all! Why on earth didn’t I do this more often!
TA DA! my fingernails, buffed, polished and painted. I chose a shimmery pinky/purple colour and I feel puh-retty spoilt. We left with the nicest goodie bags that I will be putting to good use…
I’m most excited about the Revlon foundation as it looks like a close match to my current one from Nars. As I was taking a photo, I was attacked by the household gremlin…
Leo: ain’t nobody got time for that!
I walk past the London College of Beauty Therapy nearly everyday, and never realised that they offer affordable treatments done by the students. You can see the list of treatments at The Salon at LCBT. You can get a 60 minute facial for no more than £25, or even a 75 minute full body massage for no more than £31. That is a bargain! Judging by my manicure experience, you’d be in very good hands.
Afterwards, we went for a bite to eat at Cha Cha Moon, face planted a plate of noodles and chicken wings and headed home…stumbling into these guys outside Oxford Circus station:
Yeah, I like this town.
